I excel at going down rabbit holes.
A mystery illness traditional medicine kept shrugging at. Two kids whose health threw curveballs with no tidy answers. More than a dozen homes built from the ground up. Fifteen years on a trading floor solving complex problems. I dug because I had to, and I built the spreadsheets to keep track of it all.
These days I run my own real estate business and a portfolio of short and long-term rentals, I have a Biomagnetism practice with 1:1 sessions and women’s retreats, and I homeschool my two boys.
The part that actually explains this newsletter: I got sick in a way that took years to figure out. Doctors called me a mystery - nobody had answers, so I went looking for them myself. I changed what I ate, what I put in my house, how I approached my health and the health of my family. My two kids have each had their own complex medical situations that required a lot of research nobody handed me. I learned to vet things instead of just trust them. I learned to follow the evidence when it diverged from the consensus. That turned out to be a habit worth building.
Somewhere in the middle of all this, some friends started calling me Kroogle. They’d text before buying supplements, overhauling their kitchens, trying a new protocol for their kids, or just wondering whether the thing they’d read about was worth doing. I already knew. I’d already done the research.
BusyLivingWell is that text between friends, just scaled up.
Every issue covers health, home, food, efficiency, and the things that make a full life run better. The standard is simple: vetted by me, tested by me. If it isn’t already in my house, it doesn’t get recommended. The only exception is when I tell you straight out that I haven’t tried it yet, and then you’ll know that too. And if the mainstream answer turns out to be wrong (in my opinion), I’ll say so.
Each issue includes The Shortcut: one thing I’m currently using, recommending, or genuinely obsessed with. It can be a product, a tip, a recipe, a service, a person to follow. It’s what I’m actually texting my friends - just shared more broadly.
The recommendations and the finds stay free. That’s the heart of this and it isn’t changing.
Paid subscribers get the rest: the systems I actually use to run a house, three businesses, and two homeschooled boys, and the longer, more personal stories behind all of it. On the how-to posts, the free half always stands on its own and the full build is for paid subscribers.
If you’re already trying to live well but feel too busy and don’t have the time to figure out what’s actually worth trying, you’re in the right place. I’ll do that part for you.
